A rig that is “just standing” is not necessarily a rig that is working correctly. At DN Marine, we provide technical mast services that ensure your spar is straight, your tension is balanced, and your hardware is functional.
Comprehensive Rig Checks
Don’t wait for a component to fail. Our annual rig checks provide a top-to-bottom audit of your mast and deck gear. We go aloft to inspect every terminal, sheave box, and spreader bracket.
- Visual Reports: You will receive a detailed digital report featuring high-resolution photography of any areas of concern.
- Compliance: Our reports are recognized by insurance providers and are an essential part of the “coding” process for commercial charter vessels.
Mast Stepping & Tuning
Whether your mast is coming down for winter storage or going back up for the spring, we manage the entire process. Once the mast is stepped, we perform professional tuning:
- Static Tuning: Setting the mast rake and pre-bend to the designer’s specifications.
- Dynamic Tuning: Adjusting shroud tension under sail to ensure the mast remains stable in all wind conditions, preventing “pumping” and unnecessary fatigue.
